由後索發源的神經有：

| 上肩胛下神經 | C5-C6 | 肩迴旋肌中的肩胛下肌 |
| 下肩胛下神經 | C5-C6 | 肩胛下肌、大圓肌 |
| 胸背神經 | C6-C8 | 闊背肌 |
| 腋神經 | C5-C6 | 感覺：肩膀 運動：三角肌、小圓肌和肱三頭肌長頭 |
| 橈神經 | C5-C8, T1 | 肱三頭肌、肱橈肌，以及手指和手腕的伸肌、旋後肌，拇指的內收肌和伸肌 |
