保质期(台灣亦稱保存期限)是指产品在规定的贮藏条件下的品質保证期限。保质期一般在产品的外包装上,消费者容易看到的地方,一般食品、药品、护肤品、日用品等都会有保质期。部分地區,例如日本:更區別保存期限及賞味期限,普遍來說,以保存期限的2/3作為賞味期限。
英國第4大連鎖超市Morrisons於2022年1月9月宣布,1月底起將移除超市內9成牛奶的保存期限標示,但會保留「最佳賞味期限」,過了後者以後,消費者把在家應該自己用「聞」的判定是否還可以飲用,也可以搖一搖感覺裡面是否有結塊,依硬化狀況測試保存效期。
